Out of enthusiasm, I went outside this lovely morning and took some pictures of my backyard and garden! A few days ago, I picked some of the pink peonies and placed them in my room! Yesterday, I finally took the plunge and pulled up one of my Romaine lettuces for dinner! It’s surprising how fast everything is growing! 😀 Here’s a gallery of my pictures!

At night, I place the peonies on my bookshelf (because I need to close the blinds). This bookshelf is to the left my computer, within arm’s reach. As you can see, I sometimes pick up my dictionary and thesaurus when I write, and when I copyedit I sometimes grab my Chicago Manual! 😉

Ants are attracted to the sweet centre of peonies. If you want to cut and place peonies inside your house, it’s best to get rid of the ants first (of course)! To do so, swish the blooms in a bucket of water to detach the ants. That’s what I did: hence the water droplets!

I cut and placed some of my peonies in an old pasta sauce jar and put them on my windowsill! Very pretty! ❤ (Surprisingly, I'm not very partial to the scent of peonies. I thought they would be a sweeter scent, but at least they're romantic.)

These are honeysuckles; they’re all over the neighbourhood! I have them climbing the house and a dead tree in the yard. They’re fragrant, small and sublime! 🙂

I don’t know what this floral climber is. Every year, it climbs a dead tree in my backyard. It’s pretty, but now I’m not sure where I’d put a magnolia tree. (I LOVE magnolias!)

Here’s my much-tah-dah Eden Climber rose! It’s gotten taller, and there are THREE blossoms on it! Very exciting! (N/A close-up pictures because my camera is out of focus! T_T)

Here are my tomato plants! There are two of them, and after the day of non-stop rain, they’ve gotten taller! (I’m scared of how big these plants can get. I’ve Googled tomato plants, and they get BIG. O.O)

I’m surprised at how fast Romaine lettuce grows. I was scared that I wouldn’t eat them all on time, so I pulled one up last night and ate it. It’s a lot grassier to taste than those in the grocery store, but still delicious! ^_^

In June, peonies are starting to bloom! At the right side of my yard, there are white peonies! (N/A pictures on right side of my yard because my camera was too out of focus. For readers’ convenience, I believe the white peonies are the Festiva Maxima variety.)

In May, my garden is riddled with weeds. This is the left side of my yard; at the right side of my yard, there are less weeds. (N/A pictures on right side of my yard because I’m too lazy. ;P)

Peonies are my all-time favorite, so bummed they’re hard to grow here in Florida.
